India eTourist Visa Application Online

All visitors wishing to travel with an India visa for tourism are required to get athis document to enter the country.

Fortunately the government of India has just launched an ETA (electronic travel authorization) facility in November 27, 2014 which allows tourists to apply for their visa to India online.

It replaces the previous Visa on Arrival scheme in which visitors queued upon arrival to the airports to get their visas.

Many visas of diverses countries can be submitted in www.ivisa.com specialized website for online visa services.

ETA visas are currently available for citizens coming from the following countries, they can apply here:

NOTE: If you are a citizen from any other country, the purpose of your visit is not tourism, or you are not arriving to the country by air, you will have to apply for a regular visa in an Indian consulate, embassy or Visa Application Center (IVAC).

  • The Indian eTourist Visa facility allows tourists to apply and pay online for their visas before traveling.
  • In the application process tourists have to submit a digital copy of the page containing personal details in their passport, and a digital passport photo (visit www.mypassportphotos.com to get your passport photo now).
  • Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the arrival date in India.

You should apply for your Indian eTourist Visa with a minimum of 4 days before the day you are arriving in India. For example, if you’re planning to arrive on the 4th of December, you can apply from November 1st to November 30th.

  • The Indian eTourist Visa are valid for a single visit with a maximum duration of 30 days. They cost $60 plus additional charge for payment with credit/debit cards.
  • An individual can apply for up to 2 eTourist Visa visas in a calendar year.

At arrival in India tourists will have to present a printed copy of the ETA visa along with their passport, an outbound ticket from India, and proof of sufficient funds for their stay in the country.
